Evil Begets Evil

The world of Daeron and its inhabitants are the stakes that hang in the balance of a war between Right and Might. This war churns for millenia, experiencing rises and falls for each side. At the moment, the side of Right struggles against threats hidden from the eyes of most...but not all.

Bane, the Black Hand of the Iron General, has discovered an intricate series of devices left behind by an ancient race of planar travellers. He intends to sway the balance of powers in his favor using the energies garnered by these tools. All that is needed is an understanding of how each apparatus works and why the elder race created them.

Gods, however, are no longer able to walk the worlds as they did in the days of creation. Emissaries are sent in their stead, and the balance of Right and Might maintained by balancing their number. The gods have willed it to be thus.

Ariel, the evil sister of the mad Alarian, was banished to Bane's dominion following her betrayal of kin and company. For one of the heroes, she maintained a tie that bound them in Bane's service. Tarlyn, scarred by the power of the Black Hand, aided Ariel's escape from Bane's control and returned her to living form to be housed in the construct that has come to be known as The Forge Dragon.

Evil, though, begets evil. And Ariel is ambitious; enough so to challenge Bane's plan by reviving the power of the ancient race known as Illithids and using their arcane mastery to make herself a god.

Hope lies in the vessels of Right, led by Bahamut's champion; the Dragonborn priest Mekka. Pray to the gods of your choice that they are successful.
